The Philippines are hot and humid throughout the year and the weather patterns can be defined as the southwest monsoon from May to October and the northeast monsoon from November to May. This means that for the majority of the country the dry season is from November to May and the wet season falls between July and October. This however isn’t true for areas such as Mindanao and Southern Leyte which generally experiences its rainy season between December and March. Typhoons are common in the area between June and November – though they strike in Luzon and the Visayas islands most commonly.
The best time to visit really depends on your personal preference, though we would suggest avoiding The Philippines around Easter (Holy Week) when hotel prices quite literally triple in price. For those seeking the best weather – then January to May would be the most appealing time to go – though beware – this is also the peak time for tourism in the country. However – the crowds are generally confined to the most popular beaches.
